In 2012, we designed and constructed a complete new aquatic research facility for the Wageningen University and Research (WUR). This new facility replaced the former facility, that had to be abandoned due to centralisation of research facilities at the Wageningen Campus. At this new facility, a wide range of research is performed, in the fields of aquaculture and biology.
The new aquatic research facility, with a floor space of over 1500 m2, has over 30 rooms for placement of experimental set-ups and recirculation systems. ZEBCARE designed and constructed several recirculation units for zebrafish and common carp husbandry, as well as units for other fish species, like Tilapia and trout. The facility was delivered complete with all necessary infrastructure, like groundwater supply, aeration equipment and a complete monitoring and control system.
