We are very excited to announce that we have started phase 1 of building a new feed trail unit for Alltech Coppens Aquatic Centre (ACAC). At the ACAC, researchers carry out practical and applicable research studies within the field of aquaculture nutrition. The new system consists of twelve cylindrical tanks (with conical bottom) and will be used to conduct digestibility studies with trout, catfish and eel. As a result of the tanks’ shape, it functions like a swirl separator, enabling faeces collection with a collection bottle at the tank’s bottom. During phase 1, the new units will be connected to the existing filtration system, equipped with a new SPECK circulation pump and VGE PRO UV-C. The picture shows phase 1’s initial design.
